Red Rock Bakery

The first SOLAR POWERED bakery Cafe in Utah

YES, We are!
At Red Rock Bakery, sustainability is baked into everything we do. Our bakery made history in 2017 by installing 76 rooftop solar panels, becoming the first bakery in Utah powered primarily by the sun.

Thanks to the vision of former owner Howard, the solar array supplies about 80% of the building’s energy needs, generating clean power not only for the bakery but also helping offset energy costs for other tenants in the building.

For us, going solar wasn’t just a smart business decision; it was a commitment to protecting the red rock landscapes that inspire our community and our customers every day. When you visit Red Rock Bakery, you’re supporting locally made food, thoughtful choices, and a brighter, more sustainable future.

Moab Red Rock Bakery was opened by Howard Trenholme in 1997 with a simple vision to create a welcoming neighborhood bakery where everything is made fresh and people feel at home.

From early mornings filled with the aroma of bread and pastries to daily conversations over coffee, the bakery quickly became a gathering place for locals, visitors, and outdoor adventurers alike.
Red Rock Bakery has grown alongside the Moab community while staying true to its original values. It was the first Internet Cafe in Moab!

Today, the bakery proudly continues as a family-owned business, with Howard passing ownership to his daughter, Megan Oerman. As the new owner, Megan is committed to honoring the traditions that have made Red Rock Bakery a local favorite while bringing fresh energy to the space. With a strong focus on community involvement, handmade baking, and warm hospitality, she looks forward to serving Moab for many years to come.
